Eric Clapton features in a new clip from the upcoming Bee Gees documentary How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, which will drop on December 12 on HBO Max.
The feature-length film will chart the rise of the Gibb brothers, including Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. Frank Marshall, known for The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, is the director of the film.
The exclusive clip shared by NME shows Maurice speaking about 1975 hit single “Fanny (Be Tender With My Love)” and how Barry and Robin’s vocal harmonies were the key to its success.
Clapton then talks about his influence on the work, saying, “If that was something that was initiated by me, [it’s] one of the great things I’ve done in my life!”
“Like so many people around the world, I’ve loved the Bee Gees’ music all my life,” director Marshall said when the movie was announced.
He added, “But it wasn’t until I did my first interview with Barry, almost three years ago, that I began to discover their uncanny creative instincts, their musical gifts, their humor and the brotherhood and family that made them so unique.”
