Fern Britton, 64, has said she is “still in chaos” following her split from Phil Vickery, 60. The well-known presenter opened up about her experiences with her home renovation in a new interview, saying she was enjoying the process of decluttering after recruiting professionals to help her organise her home.
Fern now resides in Cornwall.
She said: “I’m enjoying the home-renovation process.
“It was very much a holiday home, so needed refining to actually live in.
“I went mad and had a new kitchen, and turned an absolute mess of a downstairs loo, full of boots and coats and sand, into a sleeker room with a washing machine.”
She admitted: “I’m still in chaos.
“When all my things came down from Buckinghamshire, it blew my mind.
“I hired professional declutterers to sort it all out because I couldn’t face it alone.
“They’d walk past me, creating piles of cushions, books and other stuff for me to go ‘No, no, no. Yes!’ to.
“It was marvellous. Very cleansing.”
The former This Morning star also said it’s not as easy to “bounce back” after a relationship breakdown as it may seem.
She said: “People say they bounce back from a long relationship but it takes a while.
“The rebound is difficult,” she told woman&home magazine.
