Katie Price poses with protection dog after revealing terrifying sexual assault ordeal in South Africa

Katie Price has posted a sweet photo of herself with her protection dog Blade after bravely opening up about the terrifying car jacking that took place in South Africa in 2018.

The 41 year old took to her Instagram Feed to share the snap, which sees her dressed in a black jumper and blue jeans with a red cap on top.

The former glamour can be seen offering a small smile to the camera as she poses with her guard dog, who sits obediently next to her with his tongue out.

Katie, who recently praised her exes Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler as "great dads" to their children, captioned it: "It's the end of another week in #lockdown.⁣ How is everyone doing?"

Attempting to comfort her 2.1 million followers amid the coronavirus pandemic, she added: "Sending you all some virtual love. ⁣⁣Stay safe," alongside a pink heart emoji.

Fans were quick to comment as one person expressed their desire to get a dog for protection purposes as well. They wrote: "I want a protection dog. Are they also good with your kids? Is it easy to integrate?"

Katie immediately responded: "yes, they integrate very well as part of the family and good with kids. Blade came from @protectiondogworldwide x". [sic]

While Katie has been in quarantine, her time on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins has been airing on TV, showing new sides to the reality star.

In a recent episode, Katie opened up about her harrowing ordeal in South Africa, where she was held at gun point in front of her children.

While candidly speaking to former SAS solider Ant Middleton about the robbery, Katie said it had caused her to check into the Priory mental health hospital.

During her stay at the London hospital, mum of five Katie was diagnosed with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).

And, now she has bravely spoken out about the shocking incident again, this time revealing she was sexually assaulted while the men robbed her.

Speaking to The Sun, Katie said: “The reason I went there was because I got held at gunpoint and sexually assaulted.

“Six men attacked us after we stopped because my son Junior needed a wee.

“We should never have been allowed to make that journey without security.”

Katie continued: “It was like something from a horror film. This big man in an adidas hoody was shouting in my face, swearing and demanding I give him everything. And he was touching me down below.

“I grabbed a pillow and launched myself in front of the kids, trying to protect them, waiting for a bullet to hit me. I thought I was going to die. Police said it was a miracle they didn’t kill us.

“Since then I’ve had to get a protection dog for the family, and it has been so hard on poor Princess, my daughter — she can’t go anywhere on her own.”
