Kid Cudi is back on the circuit, bringing out “Leader of the Delinquents,” on Monday (April 13). He had teased the song during an Instagram Live session on April 10.
The song is the rapper’s first solo music since his 2016 album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’.
In 2018, Cudi collaborated with Kanye West for Kids See Ghosts, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Earlier this year, he teamed up with Selena Gomez on her single “A Sweeter Place.”
“Leader of the Delinquents,” which dropped on via Republic Records, appears to be a track from the singer’s previously announced upcoming seventh studio album, Entergalactic. The release date of the album has not yet been revealed.
In July 2019, he tweeted, “I know a year from now seems like forever but it’ll be here before u know it!”
Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200.
The new tune from Cudi speaks about today’s world, drugs and mental health. The opening lines go like this: “Hello friends, Cudder again/ Gotta smack ’em with some shit before the world?ends/ Same?old?denims, worn for?days/ I been home?makin’ jams and many wonderful waves.”
