Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan feel like their new home project is cursed after they were forced to move into a hotel while they wait for renovations, sources tell new!.
Their Essex mansion won’t be ready to move into until the end of the year and the couple have since moved into the swanky Corinthia Hotel in London.
They are staying in the River Suite at the five star hotel, where prices start at £2,510 per night.
“It seems to be one thing after another with the house,” a source close to the pair told new!.
“Both Mark and Michelle feel like the new home is cursed as something seems to go wrong every week," they continued.
"It’s already proving more costly than they originally thought and having to stay in a hotel only pushes the price up further. It’s small, piddly things going wrong time and time again.
"They are in a great place in their relationship but it has understandably piled the pressure on and taken a toll. It’s a bigger project than either of them pictured.”
The couple are in the process of building their new home from scratch after knocking down a £1.3 million farmhouse they bought on the plot.
Opening up about the building project, Mark, 34, said, “It’s stressful, of course, building your house from scratch. You don’t want to get anything wrong and just choosing all the right stuff.”
But our source said that despite the chaos, the pair are hoping this new home will mark the start of a fresh chapter for them both.
They have famously lived apart for months on end during their six-year marriage due to their work schedules.
But Mark recently vowed to focus on Michelle, who turns 34 this week, and the rest of his family after his uncle Eddie died from Covid in March.

“Mark has said his perspective on life has changed in recent months and family comes first,” our source added.
“This home is going to be their forever home and a base they can both have. Friends and family wouldn’t be surprised if it’s where they started their family as it’s so big.
Mark and Michelle know it will be perfect when it’s finally finished but there’s a long road ahead. They’re just focusing on the future and trying to get through the stress of it all.”
