An argument with Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 55, and twins Jedward, 27, began after the former responded to the duo’s post about JK Rowling’s latest novel Troubled Blood. The author’s book has sparked a fresh transgender rights row following the backlash she received in June over her reaction to the phrase “people who menstruate”.
I just find you clowns demanding her book be burned when you haven’t even read it pathetic
Jedward – which consists of twin brothers John and Edward – wrote on Twitter: ”Does anyone need firewood this winter!
“JK’s new book is perfect to burn next to a Romantic fire. Aww get all cozy and comfy can’t wait.”
Piers hit back at the duo’s comment, writing: “If we’re going to start burning things – which we shouldn’t – I’d rather start with your entire musical back catalogue. fyi.”
The pair replied: “It’s a joke Piers, you know like you’re life. lol.
“Supporting a book about a serial killer man who dresses as a woman to kill his victims that’s being released when trans people are actually being targeted and killed isn’t a good look, even for you.”
Not one to back down from a debate, the host continued to hit back at the pair with a series of points.
He continued the argument by correcting the pair’s grammar and added: “I really wouldn’t be mocking others for having a joke life. I haven’t read the book, and nor have you.”
The former X Factor stars hit back as they branded Piers a “d**k” and sarcastically said they were “happy to hear” he had listened to their music backlog.
Piers then called out the pair for wanting JK’s book to be burnt as he implied the pair were yet to read it.
Continuing to express their point of view, Jedward replied: “Piers!
“What’s ridiculous is you fighting JK Rowling’s battles when she needs to reevaluate her actions and be aware of the consequences and damage her fictional book is inflicting on the transgender community!”
The father-of-four added: “I don’t even like JK Rowling.

On the show today, Piers told viewers he had “run-ins” with JK in the past, but didn’t support the backlash about her new book.
Earlier this week, the hashtag “RIP JK Rowling” was savagely trending on Twitter following the release of Troubled Blood.
Piers tweeted: “The fact #RIPJKRowling is trending says all you need to know about the woke brigade – they’re nastier and more viciously intolerant than anyone they preach about.”
The Harry Potter author’s new novel is written under her pseudonym Robert Galbraith and features a cross-dressing serial killer.
She previously came under fire in June when she responded to a headline on an online article which discussed “people who menstruate”.
She wrote: “I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”
In further tweets, she said: “If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased.
“I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth.”
The author’s comments sparked an online debate, with many accusing the author of being transphobic.
She later shared a series of tweets to clarify her thoughts and a lengthy post on her personal website to defend her comments.
“I respect every trans person’s right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them,” she said as part of her thread.
