A social media user was left chuckling after Google Maps recommended that the Duke of Cambridge would be a “good match” for them.
In reality, the travel app was claiming that the pub The Duke of Cambridge in Angel, London, would be a good place to visit for a drink.
However, the user “BasicallyDan” cracked a joke about Prince William that quickly went viral.
Posting on Reddit, the bloke said: “I think he’s already married, Google Maps, but I suppose he’s worth a go.”
Almost 5,000 Reddit users upvoted the post and scores cracked jokes in response.
One commenter quipped: “If it doesn’t go to plan I hear the Earl of Essex lives nearby.”
“Right down the street in fact,” replied a second.
“The Old Queen is too. plus she is newly single and ready to mingle,” added another.
A fourth joked: “Didn’t know Google Maps is the new Tinder…”
Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, is, of course, married to Kate Middleton and has three children – so we’re not sure he’d be up for a date with Dan.
But, it seems the pub comes highly recommended by fellow Londonders.
One person said: “Not gonna lie, that's a bloody good pub!”
“It is a great pub by the way – great food,” added another.
A third wrote: “Absolutely love stumbling out of there!”

So, while it’s unlikely that Dan will go on a date with the heir to the British throne, he might get a decent pint out of the recommendation.
