1. Poke Bowls

Over the past few years poke bowls have grown in popularity and are the best menu option to order, the experts say.

Poke bowls give customers have the option to choose a healthy carbohydrate base (such as rice noodles or mixed cabbage) and type of protein.

When building your bowl, opt for brown rice, glass noodles or mixed leaves with tuna or chicken and a light sauce for a healthy lunch meal.

2. Mexican

The dietitians labelled Mexican food as the second best cuisine to choose, as most menu items incorporate protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats.

The healthiest Mexican meal options include burrito bowls with grilled chicken and extra salad or soft shell tacos with grilled with a salad toppings.

Although other dishes, such as nachos with guacamole or enchiladas with sour cream, are delicious food options, both aren’t the healthiest.

The dietitians recommended choosing sushi filled with brown or black rice for a low-calorie alternative along with a type of grilled protein rather than fried

3. Sushi

While sushi is less filling than some other options, it’s a suitable healthy option for those with a busy working lifestyle.

The dietitians recommended choosing sushi filled with brown or black rice for a low-calorie alternative along with a type of grilled protein rather than fried.

Seafood and vegetarian options would also be ideal along with other food options such as cold rolls.

4. Thai

Compared to greasy fish and chips or pizza, the dietitians said Thai meals are a healthier option.

When ordering from the mobile app, opt for fresh papaya salads, stir-fried vegetables, grilled fish and satay skewers.

Instead of spring rolls, choose paper rolls and rather than a coconut milk base simply ask for added vegetables.
