IRISH trainer Michael O'Callaghan is having a great year with his two-year-olds and the Curragh trainer can make another successful raid on Newmarket on Friday with recent Naas scorer SIESTA BEACH.
The filly became O'Callaghan's 10th individual juvenile winner in 2021 when she showed improved form to break her maiden at the fourth attempt 12 days ago and the trainer was quick to nominate tomorrow's Listed Bosra Sham Stakes (2.30) as her next target.
Local knowledge has been acquired with the booking of Tom Marquand to do the steering and the jockey can help Siesta Beach emulate the trainer's Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes winner Twilight Jet here three weeks ago.
The local defence is bolstered by Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes 5th Desert Dreamer and the still unbeaten Benefit but Siesta Beach has made rapid strides on her last two starts and I think she could be much better than Listed class next year.
Lucinda Russell's new stable star Ahoy Senor makes his chasing debut at Wetherby on Thursday (2.05) but he's likely to be very short in the market and I'll watch him today before backing HERBIERS in the handicap hurdle at 2.40.
Oliver Greenall's four-year-old didn't cut the mustard at Chepstow last time but he's being aimed at the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham next month and everything I saw last season suggests he can win today's Class 3 under Craig Nichol.
BATTLE ANGEL did really well to win her hurdling debut at the last Wetherby meeting and I reckon Mark Walford's filly can follow up at an each-way price in the Listed Juvenile Hurdle at 3.15
She doesn't carry a penalty for that win which added to her summer Flat success at Hamilton and two wins from four starts since leaving Emmet Mullins for £15,000 suggests connections already have a bargain.
Newmarket rounds off another season on Saturday with three more Listed races and Mark Johnston can make up for last Saturday's Royal Patronage disappointment by winning the Montrose Stakes at 2.58 with FIVE STARS.
Last Thursday's headline bet suffered an injury during Doncaster's Vertem Futurity Stakes but the trainer's still had an excellent season and the tail-swishing Five Stars has a jet engine to go with her propeller at the back.
I hope there's enough runners to have an each-way bet on Keith Dalgleish's PLATINUMCARD in the 10 furlongs 3.33 or the mile at 4.08 and Mick Channon can take the nursery at 1.48 with GREATNESS AWAITS.
I've kept the Thursday nap on the Flat despite Rapid Raider's 11/1 success over hurdles at Bangor on Tuesday but the jumping form is starting to settle down and I'm interested in runners at both Ffos Las and Stratford today.

Fergal O'Brien introduces a nice prospect in Manofthepeople under Connor Brace in the Ffos Las finale at 5.20 but there are quite a few unknowns lurking and I prefer the jockey's chances on his dad David's recent winner COLORADO DOC in the 4.50.
The ten-year-old has been very lightly raced due to two massive career breaks due to injury but he's won nine of his 20 starts in point-to-points and under rules and his recent win at Worcester suggests his lower hurdles rating is well worth exploiting in today's stamina test.
Dan and Harry Skelton hit an early season jackpot with Allmankind at Aintree last Sunday and the stable's excellent start to the new season can continue with CADZAND in the 2.05 at Stratford.
The six-year-old appeared to flop when favourite for Newbury's Betfair Hurdle in February but he reappeared to win at Southwell before being put away for chasing and he starts his new career from his Newbury hurdles mark of 138.
Gary Moore picked up a novices' hurdle with ROYAUME UNI 11 days ago and the 4 year-old's back on the Flat with a favourite's chance in the 3.05 at Newmarket tomorrow.
Ryan Moore seemed to ride the horse a bit cagily on its previous start at Ascot but he's back in the plate for this easier challenge after Niall Houlihan barely had to move a muscle at Plumpton.
Musselburgh's jumps season starts on Saturday with the track racing again on Wednesday and multiple winner MINELLA TRUMP Looks worth sticking with in the 2.38.
Donald McCain's chaser still seems to be improving after five straight wins and this looks a great chance to make it 6 despite the steadier of 11-12.
Delahunt daily for Thursday October 28
ROMAN MIST to win 3.23 Lingfield
Tom Ward's filly is unlucky not to be going for a 6-timer here as she's done little wrong the last twice after running up a hat-trick in Class 5 and Class 4 handicaps.
Roman Mist took a big step up to Class 2 at Ascot last month where she looked unlucky to finish fourth and she improved again in France last time where she finished a close-up fourth in Listed company for the first time.
Tom Marquand takes over as this improving filly tackles the same level today and while she hasn't run at Lingfield, her 5 runs at Wolverhampton should stand her in good stead.
