Things were going well in my new relationship until coronavirus struck – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: MY new relationship was going really well until coronavirus struck and now he’s gone cold on me.

We met online and started seeing one another six months ago. I’m 27 and he’s 43 and with two children from his marriage he can only stay alternate weekends.

Follow me on Twitter @deardeidre. The spark is still there with your ex but he’s not offering a relationship.

He cancelled our date when the advice came out to social distance, saying he was worried.

I went round to his but he hardly touched me.

I had a bad feeling and went home.

I messaged him afterwards and said, “I like you and I’d like us to continue if you feel the same.”

He said, “I like you but it’s hard when we can’t plan to do anything.

“Once this has blown over, we can go somewhere special.”

Am I wrong for feeling that I’m good enough to be seen anywhere in public with him, or am I being selfish and need to accept his decision?

DEIDRE SAYS: Your need for reassurance is getting in the way of common sense.

He is being sensible and avoiding contact with you because he wants to protect everyone’s health.

You don’t live together so you shouldn’t see one another until restrictions are lifted.
