First joining A Place in the Sun way back in 2012, Sara Damergi left after just two years after falling pregnant with her first child. Since leaving the show, Sara enjoyed stints fronting daytime show Coast Vs Country as well as launching and presenting her own podcast Lifehackers. But in 2021, Sara returned to the Channel 4 property show to try and find Ray and his partner Ali their dream holiday home in Italy – and it’s fair to say fans loved seeing her back.
Sara broke the news of her return to A Place in the Sun a few hours before fans got to see her episode play out on-screen.
Taking to Instagram with a snap from filming in Italy, Sara penned: “Who needs a little sunshine in their lives tomorrow ?!
“Come and join me on @channel4 at 3pm as we explore some gorgeous characterful homes in Northern Tuscany for @aplaceinthesunofficial.”
And it didn’t take long for excited fans to reply, with one commenting: “Great to have you back on our screens again, you absolute legend x.”
A second echoed: “Welcome back and it’s already in the planner [heart emoji].”
“Love to see you back Sara. You look fabulous [heart emoji],” a third weighed in on the social media site.
And these sentiments were echoed by those who tuned in on Thursday afternoon who were pleasantly surprised to see the former presenter back in the role.
“Love seeing the amazing @saradamergi on @aplaceinthesun,” Jason said on Twitter.
Dave added: “#APlaceInTheSun B****y hell, another presenter on this. Welcome Back Sara.”
Sara joins fellow newcomer to the Channel 4 show Lee Juggurnauth by joining in 2021.
Ben Hillman, Jasmine Harman, Jonnie Irwin, Ben Hillman, Danni Menzies and Scarlette Douglas complete the line-up.
During her return episode, Sara managed to tick a number of boxes when it came to Ray and Ali’s expectations.

Property number one was a three-bed house based in Bagnone, on the market for £133,00 – much lower than the pair’s £180,000 budget.
“Very good start, Sara,” Ray commented on the property as he and Ali grew fond of the house.
However, property number two blew it out of the water as Sara showed the couple a two-bedroom house in Pontremoli – complete with its own wine cellar.
Sara failed to impress with property number three, a two-bed chalet in Villafranca, with Ray and Ali unanimously ruling it out.
The penultimate house was also ruled out for being too big as Ali admitted it would be “too much work”.
On the market for £229,000, the pair admitted he was hard to walk away from but revealed property number two was still the one to beat.
Property number five was also ruled out and Ali and Ray ended up putting a “conditional” offer on property two as they were aware of all the work they wanted to do to the house.
However, with so much uncertainty, Sara was unable to reveal whether their offer had been accepted.
A Place in the Sun continues weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4.
