A Place in the Sun guest warns of ‘arguments’ when wife favours other property

A husband-and-wife duo ended up in "loggerheads" on A Place in the Sun when they were split about which holiday home they wanted to buy in Murcia, Spain.

In Tuesday's episode (June 15) Danni Menzies had a budget of £60,000 to find Lynn and Mike a two-bedroom apartment with a sunny terrace, a swimming pool, and positioned as close to a golf course as possible.

Halfway through the episode, Lynn and Mike also realised they would want a second bathroom because they anticipated guests coming to stay with them quite often.

The pair, who were teenage sweethearts married for 40 years, began to clash when Lynn fell in love with a three-bedroom apartment and Mike was drawn to a more traditional Spanish home.

Mike was keen on property three, a two-bed flat in Murcia with a communal pool, underground parking, and a sunny terrace with far-reaching views.

It came in under budget at £57,000 and even had two bathrooms, but Mike was a lot more impressed than his wife.

"The property itself is the best we’ve seen so far," Mike said.

But Lynn was disappointed with the size of the master bedroom and said: "Quite small."

Danni's fifth and final offering was a three-bedroom ground floor apartment in Naranjos situated right next to a golf club.

The holiday home was over their budget at £68,500 but Danni promised that negotiation was possible and Lynn seemed absolutely smitten with it.

"I've already moved in!" she joked.

Mike blanched and admitted he still liked the other one, commenting: "Oh the argument starts."

Danni agreed to meet them the next day so they could decide which property to make an offer on but when he next saw her, Mike said he and his wife were "at loggerheads".

They told Danni they couldn't make any offers and needed more time to think, so they left sunny Spain and returned to their Southampton home.
