Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) and Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) are about to take centre stage in a brand-new gripping storyline on Emmerdale as the residents of the village prepare for the dawn of a New Year. The events which unfold throughout the episodes on the ITV soap will leave fans to wonder if one or both of the characters are going to make it out of their ordeal alive. In what is set to be one of the biggest plots heading into 2022, will viewers be bidding farewell to two members of the beloved Dingle family?
The drama begins next week on the weeknight serial drama as Ellis Chapman (Aaron Anthony) wants to spend more time with Belle.
It seems the pair will be getting a lot closer as the young man tries to move on from his affair with Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade).
Wanting to impress his potential love interest, the village heartthrob asks Belle and her nephew Kyle to go on an excursion with him.
Delighted at the prospect of reuniting with her former lover, Belle accepts the invitation and the two head into the woods.
As they set up base, the two lovers get caught up in the moment and lean in for a kiss but at the same moment, Priya rings Ellis.
She is struggling with her eating disorder and needs to talk to him so the young man dashes out of the forest to go and help her.
Belle and Kyle are left to fend for themselves as Ellis finally comes face to face with Priya, who tells him she regrets calling him.
He berates her for wasting his time but as they argue, back in the forest Belle decides she needs to get her nephew home as he has twisted his ankle.
However, she realises she cannot drive her car as she gave her keys to Ellis and didn’t ask for them back, leaving her with no means of escape.
Needing to get into the car, she smashes one of the windows so she and the schoolboy can warm up as the freezing temperatures begin to kick in.
No one is coming to help them
With no signal and a low phone battery, things are not looking good for the pair at all and they huddle into the back of the car to keep warm.
As she leaves a voicemail for Ellis, her phone dies and as night falls, it seems the pair are not going to receive any help.
Not long after, the pair fall unconscious and it seems they are in the early stages of hypothermia as they begin to turn pale.
Back in the village, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) discovers what has happened and heads to confront Ellis about the situation.
As they realise Belle and Kyle are still in the woods, it’s a mission against the clock as they try to save the pair.
However, will they be too late to do anything as both Belle and Kyle have already perished in the car? Is a double exit on the cards?
The actress who plays Belle, Eden, has spoken out about her character’s latest storyline and the possibility she could be killed off.
When asked if Belle and Kyle are in danger, the soap star said: “Definitely. They’re in minus temperatures with no keys, phone or warmth.
“No one is coming to help them. Belle is very worried.
“Kyle is wrapped up in Belle’s coat and a blanket but even then he’s drifting in and out of sleep and Belle is worried he will go unconscious with the cold.”
However, it all comes about because Belle wants to reunite with Ellis and it seems she would want to do anything to keep him.
Eden added: “I think Belle really likes Ellis and has always had a soft spot for him since they were together years ago.
“Belle feels he is finally moving on from Priya and they really could go somewhere,” she added before talking about whether she thinks her latest romance is moving in the right direction.
“Definitely, he’s making a real effort with Belle and she’s loving hanging out with him. Belle thinks he feels the same.”
Though Priya is going to be a big hurdle for Belle and Ellis if the former makes it through her deadly ordeal.
Eden explained: “Yes, Belle is 100 percent jealous.
“Belle and Ellis are nearly kissing when he gets the call from Priya and I think that tells Belle his head is still all over the place with her.
“I think up until he leaves to go help her Belle really thought his head was focused on just her.
“She definitely feels like a second thought but because she has Kyle to sort she has something to distract her about being left for Priya.”
Will Belle and Kyle be saved in time or is it the end of the road for them?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode airing on Thursdays at 8pm.
