Emmerdale spoilers see Lydia arrested as Paul wreaks havoc from beyond the grave

Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) is set for more heartache in Emmerdale next week as she is arrested by police.

Baddie Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale) has been causing havoc from beyond the grave after it was revealed he’d racked up a credit card debt in Lydia’s name to pay for his gambling addiction.

Lydia is being forced to pay thousands of pounds back to the bank, after officials didn’t believe fraud had been committed.

But she’s now set to be arrested as part of a pension scam – causing yet more heartache for the Dingles, who have been suffering since the revelation of Paul’s abuse of son Vinny (Bradley Johnson) came to light.

After the success of Lydia’s counselling session with Vinny, Mandy (Lisa Riley) encourages her to apply for a pupil liaison job at a local school.

Mandy and Sam (James Hooton) coach her ahead of her interview, reassuring her she’s a born counsellor and leaving Lydia’s confidence buoyed by their belief in her abilities.

Lydia prepares for her video interview in the café, but she’s horrified when her computer is bombarded with dodgy pop-up ads.

Afterwards, she’s overjoyed with how well the interview turned out, but she’s shocked when a police officer enters the café and arrests her on suspicion of running a scam pension scheme.

There’s fury for the Dingles when Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) suggests Lydia might actually be guilty of the crime as a terrified Lydia is escorted to the police station.

And hubby Sam erupts in anger when he realises just who is likely to be behind the crime Lydia’s been nabbed for.

Meanwhile, Mandy turns her fury towards Nicola, who has been spreading gossip about Lydia’s arrest.

Paul hasn't been afraid to leave the family in financial ruin, as Vinny was left to organise his funeral by himself – despite the fact that his dad had been beating him for months.

Vinny was finally able to face up to the abuse to his mum Mandy as the Dingles turned up at Paul's graveside to support the youngster.

But he began following in his dad's footsteps as he turned to gambling to try and win some money back to help pay off the Dingles' debts, aided by Paul's little black book of betting tips.
