Matthew Perry appeared to slur his words in an interview for a new clip to promote the Friends Reunion show.

Matthew, who played Chandler Bing on the hit show, looked tired and appeared to slur his speech during a three-question interview for People Magazine.

The 51-year-old actor didn’t contribute as many answers as his castmates David Schwimmer and Matt Le Blanc during the chat.

The group all reflected on their time working together on the hit show, but fans thought something seemed amiss with funny man Matthew.

Fans on YouTube have been taking to the comments section to voice their concern about Matthew's behaviour in the clip.

Matthew appeared to slur when he said he “stole the cookie jar” in response to a question about taking props from the iconic set.

One worried fan wrote: “I'm already crying. I wish we could make Perry as happy as he's made all of us.”

Another commented: “Was Matthew Perry ok today. He seemed to be trying really hard to speak correctly and not slur."

Another said: "Is Matthew Perry okay?? Why does he slur his words and have a swollen tongue. I hope he's not sick."

Another fan defended Matthew as they wrote: "Let’s not use the friends reunion to make fun of the way matthew perry looks these days. people age, funnily enough.

"Matthew has been through A LOT since friends wrapped up in 2004. be respectful instead of judgmental. hard block me rn if you think making fun of him is funny."

Another more positive fan wrote: "I am so glad Matthew made it to the reunion. It wouldn't be the same without him."

The trailer for the Friends reunion show sees the stars get emotional as they all returned to the set of Friends.

The cast were reunited on set at Warner Brothers Studios for the first time in 17 years, which brought back “magic” memories.

During the trailer, the group who played Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Joey and Phoebe, read through old scripts from the 10 seasons and returned to the iconic original soundstage, where they shot the series.

Emotional moments were anticipated by actress Jennifer, who played Rachel Green, as she asked: “Where’s the tissue box?”

Throughout the film, the group were seen welling up as they discussed the show. Courtney, 56, wiped away tears as she said: “It was an incredible time. We became best friends.”

And, in another shot, Matthew told the group: “Oh, I’m gonna cry now.”

The one-off special, which airs on Thursday 27 May on HBO Max, sees the cast reunite along with special guests including Maggie Wheeler, who played Chandler’s ex-girlfriend Janice, and Tom Select, who played hunky Richard.
