Lucifer season six is currently filming in Los Angeles as fans prepare to say goodbye to the show in its final season. Not much detail has been confirmed yet about what will happen but a familiar face will be directing in the new season. Here’s everything you need to know about this ahead of it returning.
Which episode of Lucifer is Dan star Kevin Alejandro directing?
Fans of Lucifer might not realise Dan Espinoza star Kevin Alejandro is also a talented director.
The actor has been behind the camera on short films like Adult Night, The Talk and Bedtime Story.
He even co-runs his own production company called Alejandro Films with his wife Leslie Alejandro and sister-in-law Dani De Jesus.
Now viewers will be even more pleased to hear he will be back directing on the latest season of Lucifer.
The news was confirmed by writer and executive producer Chris Rafferty.
He wrote on Twitter: “Due to the pandemic, #Lucifer season six has had its share of scheduling changes, and sadly I’ll miss working with season five finale director Karen Gaviola.
“But I am SUPER EXCITED to announce our new director for 609… @kevinmalejandro! Team #SpoilerAlert together again!!!”
As announced by Rafferty, Alejandro will be working on the penultimate episode of the show.
The title for this has been confirmed as Goodbye Lucifer and it’s sure to be a dramatic outing of the show.
When the title was announced back in January, it was teased one character would be exiting the show in the episode.
The Lucifer Writers’ Room account tweeted: “Who will be saying ‘goodbye’ in #Lucifer’s second-to-last episode?
“You have 17 eps to go before finding out, and you better believe @Chris_Rafferty is bringing the feels.

“But don’t worry — he wants you all to know that he’s looking out for your hearts #youreinsafehands.”
However, not much more has been revealed about this so it seems like viewers will just have to wait and see.
Of course, this will not be the first time Alejandro has stepped behind the camera on the show.
Alejandro has directed three other episodes of the series so far.
His first came in 2018 on the season three episode Once Upon A Time, which saw the characters in an alternate universe.
This was actually the finale of season three and was supposed to be the end of the show after it was cancelled by Fox.
Thankfully Netflix brought the show back, meaning the star has been behind the camera twice more since then.
He directed the season five episodes Spoiler Alert and Nothing Ever Changes Around Here.
Lucifer season 5, part 1 is available to stream on Netflix now.
