Coronation Street legend Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) returns to the cobbles next week, but she’s greeted by none other than DS Glynn.

DS Glynn is concerned about her welfare, and remains confused as to why she would put herself and her family in harms way by returning home.

The detective can only think of one reason, and asks Leanne outright if she’s been contacted by Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

Viewers will know that Leanne has indeed by contacted by the drugs lord, and the reason she’s returned home is because she’s agreed to go back on her initial plan to testify in court.

The stalwart denies that Harvey has been in touch, and DS Glynn buys her story about wanting to be surrounded by loved ones during a tough time.

However, he reiterates just how important it is that she give evidence in court.

‘Just last month, Harvey’s gang were dealing pills that resulted in three teenagers being placed into intensive care,’ he told Leanne.

‘I know there’s no such thing as a nice drug dealer, but we made info on that batch public, and they continued to sell. They knew what they were dealing, and they promised those kids that it was safe.’

Leanne was horrified to learn of such a thing. The question is: will it sway her decision? Will she go to court and ensure Harvey is put behind bars?

Or will she do as the drug dealer commands and refuse to give evidence?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday June 14 at 8pm on ITV. Alternatively, these episodes will be available to view as a boxset on ITV Hub, due to schedule disruptions during Euro 2021.
