Piers Morgan replaced on GMB while awaiting test results for coronavirus

Piers Morgan, 55, has been replaced on Good Morning Britain after developing a coronavirus symptom in the last 48-hours. Earlier yesterday evening, he told worried fans that he would be stepping down from the ITV flagship news program for safety reasons.

ITV have since revealed Friday’s host Ben Shepherd, will present alongside Susanna Reid.

The outspoken presenter confirmed he has taken a test for COVID-19 and will not be co-hosting the show until he receives the results.

Piers took to Twitter to announce the worrying news, but didn’t divulge which symptom he’d developed.

The GMB host tweeted: “UPDATE: On medical advice, and out of an abundance of caution for a mild symptom that arose in past 48hrs, I’ve had a test for COVID-19 and so won’t be working on @GMB until I get the result back, which should be tomorrow.”
