Pregnant Emmerdale star Amy Walsh teases baby's due date as she gushes over EastEnders' boyfriend Toby-Alexander Smith

EMMERDALE's Amy Walsh teased her baby's due date with boyfriend Toby-Alexander Smith on Loose Women today.

The pregnant actress, who plays Tracy Metcalfe on the ITV soap, hinted when she'll give birth as she gushed over Toby, 31, in the sweet interview.

The soap star, 34, told the daytime chat show: "It could be a Christmas baby.

"But my grandma was and she really hated it."

Amy also explained how the couple got together after Toby, who plays Gray Atkins in EastEnders, sat beside her in the audience for Strictly Come Dancing.

He was there to support Honey Mitchell co-star Emma Barton while Amy was there for Kelvin Fletcher, who went on to win the series that year.

Amy shared: "He walked in and sat next to me and I turned round to my friend and was like, 'Who is that? He's so fit!' And she was like, 'I knew you'd say that straight away.'

"We were just chatting all night and really got on."

Toby added: "It's very snug in that Strictly audience and we were sat very similar to how we're sat now…

"Once the show had finished I went to the bar and Amy was with people from Emmerdale and as I looked over she had the biggest glass of red wine and a pack of chicken crisps and I thought that's a woman after my own heart."

Amy quipped: "I was mortified when he asked me out because I was still holding them."

They decided to isolate together, moving in after just four months when the government told everyone – including soap stars – to stay at home.

The Sun revealed the pair had become a couple in December, when they turned up at a theatre premiere together.

Earlier this month Amy, who is the sister of Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh, revealed she and the EastEnders actor were expecting their first child.
