Spoilers: Yasmeen jailed for killing Geoff in dramatic Corrie trial scenes?

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) could be heading for prison for murder as Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Batholomew) is left for dead in a dramatic showdown as Coronation Street cast have filmed tense court scenes that will see her take the stand before the production ceased during the coronavirus pandemic.

This week, Geoff’s vile abuse of Yasmeen gets even worse as she confronts him about sleeping with prostitutes and passing an STI onto her – only for him to try and turn the blame onto her.

And when he humiliates her by later forcing to wear a sexy dress he bought for one of his escorts for a night out at the Rovers, while belittling and mocking her, it leads to a terrifying showdown back home.

As Yasmeen is left a wreck, Geoff explodes with anger and Yasmeen is forced to fight back, lashing out with wine bottle and leaving him bleeding from the neck and lifeless on the floor.

She then anxiously phones the police to report that she has killed her husband – which lands her in very hot water next week.

Captions accompanying pictures for the storyline read: ‘Tim runs towards Geoff and Yasmeen’s house but the police won’t allow him inside.

‘Meanwhile, Yasmeen arrives at the police station to find Imran waiting for her. During her initial interview, a bewildered Yasmeen is charged, but will Imran be able to help with her case?’

They added: ‘Later, Alya tries desperately to tell the police that Geoff has been controlling her gran for months.

‘Will she be able to expose the truth?’

It seems that Yasmeen will have battle on her hands over coming weeks as cast members were pictured arriving on location for court scenes.

But will Yasmeen be heading to prison? Metro.co.uk understands that the storyline was still underway at the time that filming ceased so depending on when lockdown measures lift, it may be a while before Yasmeen’s fate is revealed.

Whatever happens, she has a rocky time ahead…
