Strictlys Gorka Marquez apologises to Katie McGlynn as theyre voted off show

Strictly Come Dancing's Gorka Marquez has apologised to Katie McGlynn in a heartfelt post after they were voted off the show.

Hollyoaks star Katie, 28, and her Spanish dance partner were the next pair to be eliminated from the series after facing defeat in their second consecutive dance-off against Judi Love and Graziano di Prima.

The pair were eliminated following a performance of the American Smooth to Dr John's version of Cruella De Vil as part of the movie themed week on Saturday night.

Gorka, 31, has since taken to Instagram to apologise to his dance partner as their dreams of winning the The Glitterball were put to an end.

The star posted: "I’m so proud of you and your work! You have been a joy to work with.

"Thank you for these three weeks full of laughs and jokes.

"Thanks for make this strictly series so special! Sorry I couldn’t make it longer for you!"

He continued the gushing post by addressing Katie's professionalism upbeat attitude during their short time on the show.

“You didn’t have the easiest ride but always came with a smile and giving 100% to everything I asked you to do in the rehearsals room, you always trusted me and believed in my work and for that, I thank you,” added Gorka.

“Today is the end of our Dance journey but not our friendship. THANK YOU ONE MORE TIME. I am so PROUD of you.”

Dance partner Katie replied in the comments: “Thank you for everything Gorks! I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s been an absolute blast x.”

His message came after the Hollyoaks star spoke out about their departure on her Instagram page.

The star shared a picture from movie week, alongside a lengthy post, writing: "I’ve loved every second of rehearsals with @gorka_marquez and performing each week!

"I’m really gutted that my time on the show has come to an end so soon, I feel like I had so much more to give and really wanted to carry on pushing myself and learning from the professionals that I am absolutely in awe of."

She went on to to say that the show was out of her comfort zone as she hadn't danced before.

Katie added: "I think it’s time for me to get back to what I do best and love the most… acting!

"This journey has been such a rollercoaster of emotions but I wouldn’t change it for the world."

The actress thanked her fans, including Dame Emma Thompson, for their support.
