‘Much-loved’ great-gran who worked as NHS nurse for more than 30 years dies of coronavirus – The Sun

A 'MUCH-LOVED' nurse and great-gran is the latest NHS worker to tragically die from coronavirus. 

Tributes have flooded in for Angie Cunningham who passed away yesterday in the ICU at Borders General Hospital, near Melrose.

The dedicated nurse spent more than 30 years of her life working in NHS Borders hospital caring for patients. 

Angie's family and NHS Borders Chief Executive Ralph Roberts today paid tribute to the much-loved mother, granny, and wife.

The statement said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear family member and colleague Angie Cunningham on Wednesday from COVID-19. 

“Angie was a much loved wife, mother, sister, granny and great granny, as well as a friend to many more.

“Angie worked in NHS Borders for over 30 years and during this time was a much respected and valued colleague within the hospital, providing amazing care to patients. 

“She was very proud to be a nurse alongside her love for her family.”
